Sexyback

This is an overdue entry. Way overdue. Been really really really busy. Repeating the word 'really' 3 times doesn't exactly describe how busy I am. Work has been hectic but fun nonetheless. Of course, there are days where I just want to grab everyone by their neck and break them apart but alas, that's only my imagination.

So, on Wednesday (5th of July 2006) marked the last day of the shoot for Bid It. This, in a way, ended my 5-month-long working relationship with Samira, one of my favourite colleagues. What can I say? I had loads of fun working on this season of Bid It. Not to mention the show actually rated in the top 10, even went as high as #3! While the first season was a living hell, this season was the total opposite. Somehow, I didn't want it to end because I had so much fun working on it. Though there are times when I just wanted to quit because either I couldn't churn out the script on time or the script just suck to the max. But that said, the sadness has yet to sink in, maybe because the show is still in it's editing process. Maybe at approximately 8.15pm on the 27th of July, depression will creeps in over the fact that Bid It is done and over with.

Had my appraisal last week, or was it 2 weeks ago... can't remember. And nice to hear that my bosses approve of my work, but that I need to work on my confidence. No 'but' there because I agree with them, 100%. I always feel that my work is never as good as the rest, and even though I may like my certain edited shows, but once it's aired, I will hate it to the bone because I felt I couldn't have done better. But at the end, they promised to promote me once I proved to them that I am able to handle a show on my own. Yeah right, we'll see about that.

So, after Bid It, I will be working on this game show called Arcade, which was actually my request to be put on the show, but I'm really confuse right now. I can't make out how whether I'm excited about it or regretting it. So will see in August how it goes.

"Cardigans - Live And Learn"

I came home in the morning
And everything was gone
Oh what have I done
I dropped dead in the hallway
Cursing the dawn
Oh come on son
Why must I burn
I’m just trying to learn

I stared into the light
To kill some of my pain
It was all in vane
Cause no senses remain
But an ache in my body
And regret on my mind
But I’ll be fine

Cause I live and I learn
Yes I live and I learn
If you live you will learn
I live and I learn

God kicked you in the head
So I started a fight
Cause I knew I was right
But I learned I was wrong
I remember a slaughter
I remember I fought
For the money I brought
I got blistered and burned
And lost what I earned

But I live and I learn
Yes I live and I learn

I got, I got it now
She’s got, She’s got it now

I came to one a corner
With some help from a man and goddamn
I don’t see to have learn
That a lady in need is guilty indeed
So I paid and got laid in return
And I don’t know what I’ve learned

Well you get what you give
And hell yes I lived
But if you live as you learn
I don’t think I’d be learned
Oh with the sun in my eyes
Surprise, I’m living a life
But I don’t seem to learn
No I don’t think I can learn

Bowl of Oranges

I just have to post this. I think couples in love should know this. It's from the song "Bowl of Oranges" from Bright Eyes.

This is just an excerpt from the song:

And every time you feel like crying
I'm gonna try to make you laugh
And if I can't, if it just hurts too bad
Then we'll wait for it to pass
And I will keep you company
Through those days so long and black

We'll keep working on the problem
We know we'll never solve
Of love's uneven remainders
Our lives are fractions of a whole
But if the world could remain within a frame
Like a painting on a wall
Then I think we'd see the beauty then
And stand staring in awe

And here's another one from Bright Eyes called "Nothing Gets Crossed Out"

I'm making plans
Gonna rise to the occasion yeah
Meet all their demands
But all I do is just lay in bed
And hide under the covers
Yeah I know I should be brave
But i'm just too afraid of all this change
And it's too hard to focus through all this doubt
I keep making these to-do lists but nothing gets crossed out

I never thought there would be a day where I actually confessed to liking Madonna's music, but I must say I am so addicted to her new songs - Hung Up & Sorry. I think the new album is shit, but these 2 songs are so trashy and catchy I am so loving it. Great, now I wonder what my punishment will be for confessing my love for Madonna's music.

2005: Revisited

Alright people, it’s 2005: Revisited. And since this is my blog, it will inevitably be all about ME. The highlights for me in 2005, not the world, not some social issues, but issues concerning ME. Now that you’re clear on this, here’s the year’s most anticipated entry ever!!!!

God, I love my jokes!

January 10: My first full-time job in the then I-think-it-is-so-glamorous-Channel V as a production assistant. Note: opinion of the company changed as the days gone by.

March: Saw Sting in concert, and that man was fine! The concert? Well, papers nationwide praised this man and basically worship the ground he walked on. Me? It was average. The opening was nothing amazing. He opened the concert by walking onto the stage, in some black attire, and greeted the audience in English (duh!!) and a mixed of malay words, before performing the first song of the night. Ain’t that some groundbreaking opening or what? I swear if he wasn't that good looking, I would have doze off. Overall, it was a disappointment for me. I totally blame it on the lack of interaction, performance and enthusiasm. It was a straight up singing night for Sting, and that was it. Maybe he thought his look could overshadow his lack of enthusiasm and charisma for that night. Well, for a half baked work, Sting has definitely outdone himself.

April: Hezo’s extended stay in Perth and KK finally ended, and she came to KL, hoping to settle down. And settle down she did not…hahahahaha…. It was funny thinking how she would complaint about the lack of civilization among the KL-ians… I have to say, Welcome to Malaysia. But it was great. We don’t spend as much time together anymore compared to our uni-days, but it was fun just poking fun at the Whale.

Another highlight in April was my increment. Not much, but it was alright, at that time (when I WASN'T juggling 3 person’s work at one go, or having to work weekends on my own time).

Also, my first assignment trip overseas. Yeah, and my only overseas assignment. I think it was this month if not mistaken. Went with Faizul, my colleague whom I hardly know at that time, but because there was no other guys available, I was picked to go with him to Singapore for an interview with this animation guy who works for George Lucas on his latest Star War film. Had no interest in the film, and had no idea whatsoever about the guy, so wasn’t exactly thrilled meeting him. Hotel was shit, and we almost had to pay with our own money. Yeah, this was one of the few things that would slowly change my opinion towards Channel V.

May: Nothing major happened.

June: Another increment. That’s all.

July:  Don’t think anything major happened.

August 28 – 30: Went to Sandakan, Sabah with my colleague/friend Manju and our VJ Joey G, which turned out to be one hell of an experience. It was both fun and scary at the same time. The trip was to meet with the participants from Raleigh International, who were spending 3 months in the jungle. Crazy, I know. Not going into details here, but the best thing that came out of the trip was Graham Russell, one of the guide that drove us around. He was from Scotland, so initially we had a hard time understanding him. The first day, we were very polite, with lots of “excuse me” when we couldn’t understand him. By the 2nd day, we were so comfortable with him, we became very Malaysian and just went “What!” everytime we needed him to repeat his sentence. He’s so bitchy, sarcastic and funny. But he’s the good bitchy type, because his jokes are actually funny. Not putting people down kinda funny. But anyway, my colleague and I miss him the most, and I wonder where he is right now.

September: Boring month.

October: This one too, besides the overloaded work and my rebellious nature starting to show itself again, thanks to Channel V, there was really nothing much happened throughout the month.

November: Now, this month has some drama. My drama with my station manager aka my big boss. I was unsatisfied by his accusation, which he had no right of, I went into his room to discuss the matter with him. I was aware that I did raise my voice a lil when explaining to him about my work, and I apologize after that. But him being him, he refused to see the bigger picture, & chose to ignore the reason I was pissed. But instead chose to attack my work, which was very unprofessional because he had no right criticizing my work without knowing why I did what I did with the show first. He had no idea what I wanted to do for my show, and since he already had an idea of what to do with the show, he made me looked like I wasn’t doing my job. We calmed down after a while, but I knew he still did not think he made a mistake for his wrong accusation, but whatever, the show went on air, and no complaints from the head office. Screw you Jeff!

December: Nothing much happened either.

And that was it, my 2005: Revisited. Actually, nothing major happened though. In fact, nothing interesting that happened last year, as is every year anyway.

Wow that was a long entry, and it was definitely a piece of crap… hahahaha….boring ass entry.
